Frequently asked questions
Curious about forest therapy? Here you'll find answers to common questions about my practice and what makes Breathe With Trees a unique and inclusive experience for everyone.
What is forest therapy?
Forest therapy, also known as forest bathing, is a guided practice designed to help you connect with nature and yourself through your senses. The practice provides many health benefits. It's about slowing down, observing your surroundings, and experiencing the calming and restorative benefits of the natural world.
Do you offer different sessions?
Yes, I offer two types of sessions including individual (1-1) and group (maximum of 2 participant) sessions. Individual sessions can be tailored programmes for specific needs.
How is forest therapy different from regular therapy?
Forest therapy focuses on sensory immersion in nature to promote well-being, reduce stress, and foster connection. It is not a space to discuss trauma or distressing experiences, nor is it a substitute for clinical psychological therapy.
Who are your sessions for?
My sessions are for adult women and gender non-conforming participants only. I'm DBS checked and covered by Westminster insurance.
When will I know details of the meeting point?
You will be sent a welcome email with details on where to meet plenty of time before the session.
Are you first aid trained?
I'm qualified in basic first aid and will bring a first aid kit. So if there's any minor injuries, you will be taken care of. Forest therapy is a slow, calming practice so the likelihood of injury is extremely low.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I'm covered by Westminster insurance. You can check out my business insurance certificate on the Home page.
How is your practice neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ inclusive?
At Breathe With Trees, inclusivity is at my core. My sessions are designed with flexibility and understanding to accommodate diverse needs and identities. I hope to create a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming environment for everyone, ensuring all participants feel respected and comfortable.
What should I expect during the session?
You can expect a gentle, guided experience focused on connecting with nature. Sessions involve slow-paced walking, sensory invitations, and a 3-minute meditation before the break. Then a poetry reading and tea ceremony to conclude.
What should I not expect during a session?
Please do not expect strenuous activity, clinical therapy, the sharing personal trauma, or offloading your worries. The focus is building connection with nature through sensory invitations.
Why do you charge £50 per session?
The session fee of £50 reflects the value of a professionally guided experience. This covers preparation, delivery, and ongoing commitment to providing a high-quality and inclusive practice. Plus, it absorbs the service fee charge on Eventbrite to create a smooth checkout and no extra hidden costs.
Do I need to bring anything?
Just yourself, water, and a sit mat or foldable chair. Tea and vegan snacks will be provided!
How do I let you know of my individual needs?
You can inform me of any individual needs relevant to the session through email. I can tailor the session to your needs. Your comfortability, safety and enjoyment are my main priorities.
Are you DBS checked?
Yes, though I don't work with children, young people or vulnerable adults, I wish to give my clients peace of mind to keep everyone safe. I have two enhanced and one basic DBS check.
